hi,

can any one offer design reference design for connecting to AM335x the followings:

1. Ethernet connector RJ45 with magnetics and led

2. USB host and OTG

3. display interface with touch screen

Hi Golan,

There are several AM335X reference designs: EVM, Starter Kit, Beaglebone, IDK and ICE. For what you need I would suggest you look at the Starter Kit (possibly also EVM and Beaglebone). Here are the links:

thanks for the fast replay.

can u recommend on 1000M Ethernet solution (that will automatically support 10 and 100M)?

can u send reference design?

Hi Golan,

The EVM and Sterter Kit both have an AR8031-AL1A 1000/100/10 Ethernet PHY. See page 13 of the EVM schematics or page 12 of the Starter Kit schematics.

Hi Golan,

It's GPMC (General Purpose Memory Controller) - a highly flexible external memory interface. You can check AM335X Datasheet, Section 5.5.1 and AM335X Technical Reference Manual, Section 7.1 for detailed explanation.

hi,

can u send a reference schematics for connecting RJ45 with magnetics directly to the AM335X Ethernet pins? (for 10/100 Ethernet line)

is there ant special PCB layout instructions?

You can not connect the Ethernet signals from RJ-45 connector with magnetics directly to AM335x.

If you want 10/100 Ethernet, you will need to use a MII or RMII PHY.

You can find examples of MII by looking at the BeagleBone design.

Hi Golan,

If you use one of the recommended PMIC's: TPS65910A, TPS65217 or TPS650250, the PWRONRSTn signal is generated by them. For the RTC_PWRONRSTn it depends - if you don't use RTC it can be just shorted to PWRONRSTn (the PWRONRSTn voltage level will have to be 1.8V in this case). Or you could design a simple circuit like the one used in the EVM or Starter Kit.
