Usage of OMAP5 ABE SRC

Hi,

We want to use the sample rate conversion of ABE to do a memory to memory SRC. In this regard we are looking for the following:

1. Is it possible to do a memory to memory sample rate conversion using ABE from A15.

2. Could you please direct to any sample application which demonstrates this funcationality.

Hi Pranjal,

Basically SRC is performed in AE ( Audio Engine ) core of the ABE subsystem.

Input DMA requests to AE, can come from the ABE peripherals, and output DMA requests and IRQs can be generated and sent to the system (Cortex-A15 MPU ).

Could you provide more details about your use case ?

Thanks for your reply.

We want to perform Sample Rate Conversion on a blocks of data (typically each block comprises of 64 samples and each sample can be 16 bit / 32 bit). The output sampling rate is fixed while the input sampling rate can vary from 8kHz to 48 kHz. This SRC is currently performed on ARM and we want to move this load to ABE.

Hi Sharath,

The usage of ABE is explained in detail at ABE Subsystem and ABE HAL addendums. Because of the NDA restrictions, this information is available through your local TI representative.

However,the ABE HAL addendum for OMAP4 is public.You can also refer to it: http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/swpu245h . In chapter 4 are given programming examples, that demonstrates it's functionality.
