Driver for FT232RQ on LCDK can't be used

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138, DA8XX, PMP

Hi, I have download the driver from http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm. But  when I install it for LCDK, it always remained me that the drive can't be installed. So I turn to the support of  FTDT, then he tell me the PID_VID is 6001&0403, if TI have changed this , the driver FTDT supplied is no longer suitable. After I check the PID_VID of FT232RQ on LCDK,  I found that they were 2303&067B. But LCDK User Guide say :"Windows and Linux drivers for the chip can be found on the FTDI Product Page ". So where can I download the driver suits to my LCDK. Thank you so much, best wishes for you!

  • Hi Libin,

The PID/VID should have been 0x6001/0x0403. Can you send me a screen capture of the device properties like the one attached below?

In the meanwhile, I will check on ways for you to reprogram these parameters to the correct values.

    Regards,

    Sunil Kamath

  • Hi, Thank you for your answer very much. This problem I have aleady solved, but I encountered another problem. I hope you can give me some advises about it. When I boot the board from nand flash, the uboot come up, but the linux didn't. The information printed from serial port was as below. The problem is that at last I have not get a linux console, the detail is as below. I hope you can give me some advises about it and how I can deal with it. Thank you and best wishes for you !

  • Hi Libin,

Kindly let us know which dvsdk version you are usingfor your OMAP-L138 LCDK kit?

Are using the prebuilt uImage or you have compiled one?

Also send us the uboot environment variables for booting linux using the printenv command to give further suggestions on this.

    Regards
