Does TMDSEMU560V2STM-U required external power from target board?

Dear forum,

We ordered TMDSEMU560V2STM-U for use with TMS320C6678 on our self-developed board.

TI Evaluation Board “TMDXEVM6678L-LE Rev 3.0” has special connector, named in "TMDSEVM6678L EVM Technical Reference Manual Version 2.01"

“560V2_PWR1, XDS560v2 Mezzanine Power Connector”

I can’t understand usage of  “560V2_PWR1, XDS560v2 Mezzanine Power Connector”

I can’t find any documents concerning TMDSEMU560V2STM-U, with requirement for powering from target board.

My question is:

Can I use TMDSEMU560V2STM-U with TMS320C6678 on our self-developed board without powering from our board?

    Yes, you can use the EVM mentioned with your self-developed board, assuming you designed the board with a JTAG header.  The power connector being mentioned is only for the XDS560v2 mezzanine board that was shipped as part of the TMDSEVM6678LE EVM.

    The Standalone EVMs such as the one you mentioned have will either have their own separate power supply which is provided or get power through USB interface.  They will not require power from your board.  Please note that the XDS560v2 Mezzanine board is not sold separately but is part of the EVM package I mentioned.  It's treated as an integrated emulation solution.
