TMS320C6416 dsk and CCS v5

Hello,

Just a quick question, is it possible to use this board ( by spectrumdigital ) in CCS v5? If so, do I need to download some driver?

background:

I have used the board in win xp for a while, today when I tried to use the board with my win 7 64b machine I realized that CCS v2.21 wont work ( no 64b drivers for the board available). I installed CCS v5 (free version) but could not get it to upload programs to the board...

  • Magnus,

Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI Home Page documents and in the TI Wiki Pages. Be sure to search all of these for helpful information and to browse for the questions others have asked on similar topics on E2E. Our new E2E red Search box near the upper-right corner has improved functionality, and it is the key to getting the most out of the forum as we include more and more answers to questions like yours.

Please take a look at one of my favorite Wiki Pages, GSG:Common target configurations. I use a lot of different TI development boards and have a hard time figuring out which target configuration to use. This page is exactly the place to go when you want to connect to an EVM or DSK through an embedded emulator, in other words, when you want to connect with just a USB cable from your PC to the board. Once you have opened that Wiki page, search for the board you are using and in most cases you will find it there. If not, look for similar boards, or post your question here like you did.

Be sure you have run the Update in CCS->Help to get the latest emulation drivers and support files.

If you continue to have problems, please reply back with more detail on the Target Configuration you are using and the results you are getting, with any relevant messages.

    Regards,
    RandyP
