[DM368] About performance and bandwidth for 1080p 30fps H264 Encode and SPI data transfer...

Hello, All

I want to use DM368 to do H264 1080p 30fps Encode.

(My system didn't have UI, no need display, also no need to handle Ethernet packages, all system just pure for H264 1080p 30 fps Encode.)

After video encoded to H.264, I need to DMA Encode Data to SPI block and output that data via SPI interface to Data processor.

Please to following below block diagram,

Now I need to confirm the system performance and interface bandwidth is good enough for my application.

How about DMA performance for HDVICP and SPI?

How about SPI interface data transfer bandwidth is enough for 1080p 30fps H264 data or not?

Jeffrey,

DM368 supports 1080p30 encode as far as I know. HDVICP has internal DMA if I remember correctly.

Also if you are using H.264 I think the bit rate will be 4-6mbps. SPI in DMA mode should easily support this data rate.

Hi,

Chi, You can check encoded data size per time stamp. then You can also check capability of transfer through SPI.

Encoded data size can be about 15K at bitrate 4Mbps in my experience.

Important thing you consider is memory resource to buffer those data.
