AM335xEVM,Starterware & grlib_demo

I wish to use the AM335x along with our current RTOS while adding components of Starterware specially grlib and USB.

Evaluating the grlib_demo on the AM335xEVM it appears the visual LCD response to touch screen controls is much slower than on the grlib_demo on the Stellars  RDK-IDM-SBC.

It was especially slow when one checks a check box and the software lit the associated LED.  It's hard to quantify bu the delay seems like almost 1 second in this case.

I am wondering if anyone has noticed this and has a possible explanation?
