LCDK SD Card Contents

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6748

MSE detects a virus on the SD Card than came with my TMS320C6748 Development Kit (LCDK). The offending file has this path on the card:

driver\S-1-4-89-654352344-54323413-6452342-4545\svchost.exe

The above file is hidden. It is referenced from the autorun.inf. Not sure if my PC might have been infected and placed it on the SD Card as it was inserted. MSE thinks my PC is clean. Inserting the SD Card did not result is new copies of the bad files.

What should be the card contents? Here's what I have after removing the bad file and autorun.inf:

SD Card Adaptor has a sticker with a Texas Instruments logo and tiny C6748 picture, labeled 4GB SD C6748 SYS/BIOS(tm) SDK v2.0. The microSD itself has no sticker.

  • Norman,

I could not find any hidden folders or files in the C6748 LCDK SD card that I have. It only has the three files that you have listed above. Does MSE report any particular virus in svchost.exe? Or does it consider the file to be a virus itself?

    Regards,

    Sunil Kamath

Sounds like the SD Card got infected somewhere between TI and me. Just wanted to confirm that I wasn't deleting good files ( false positives ).

  • There have been recently additional reports from some more customers on finding files that are detected as virus in the SD cards. We are investigating this further with the board vendor and will keep the community posted on the findings.
