SDK best choice for beagleboard developpement

Hi, I'm actually developping a multimedia application on beagle board system to download and play video files from a cloud server. For that, I need a good support of hardware decoding through DSP (using gstreamer pipelines). Based on what I've found, TI offer two SDK for this, EZ SDK and DVSDK. Is anyone can tell me which one is most suitable for my needs?

Hi Rudy,

I recommend you to use the DVSDK but should pay attention on the revision of your board:

If you are using BeagleBoard it is based on the omap3530 processor and the following release is suitable for you:

If you are using BeagleBoard XM it is based on the dm3730 processor and the following release is suitable for you:

http://www.ti.com/tool/linuxdvsdk-dm37x

Ok that's what I thought. Thanks for your answer.

But I have also one question concerning DVSDK 4.03 and the link you provided to me. Does this SDK support directly beagleboard xM? I've read that the SDK is designed for EVM only so some hack are needed to make it works with beagle.

Hi,

The DVSDK not 'officially' supported to run on community boards, like 'BeagleBoard', there is much demand to be able to easily migrate the base DVSDK software development environment between the official supported EVM and community board. I recommend you the following tutorial about how to build an install DVSDK on BeagleBoard Xm:
