In LSU_REG3 the Byte Count Field says that it's possible to receive/send payload up to 1MB

But the datasheet says also that

"SRIO specifies data packets with payloads up to 256 bytes. Many times, transactions span multiple packets. RapidIO specifies a maximum of 16 packets per message."

That is a total of 4KB payload.

So, what is the maximum payload i can send/receive? 1MB or 4KB?

The 16 packet limit is for a single Type 11 MESSAGE; these packets are handled by the SRIO TXU/RXU inside the Keystone chip. The 1 MB payload limit is for direct I/O operations, which use other packet types and are handled by the LSUs.

The 16 packet limit is for Message Passing and the 1 MB is for DIO.
