OMAP-L138 LCD Data bus in LIDD mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

When using the OMAP-L138 LCD controller in LIDD mode, what is the state of the LCD DATA bus when idle, in other words, when a bus cycle is not in progress?

For instance, are the data bus output drivers in the OMAP disabled so that the bus can float or do the drivers hold the bus and only release it during a read?

Thanks

Neil

  • Neil,

The data pins are driven by the drivers and released for a read. However, if you have pullup/pulldown enabled, these pins will be weakly held by the internal pullup/down during this time.

  • Your text suggests that the outputs are only tri-stated when reading but my observations suggest that the drivers are tristated after the last write cycle, whether reading or not. Could you confirm either way, please?

We understand that when not driven that the pins will be pulled if the internal pull-up or pull-down resistors are enabled.

    Thanks, Jon.
