TMS320C6747 FD RAM interface

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6747

Customer called asking about the TMS320C6747 and FD RAM interface. Wants to make sure doing things correctly. Also want to minimize issues with aging.

Customer is also using Micron MT48LC2M32B2P-6 64M SB RAM

Running at 150 MHz on synchronous clock, is this too fast? Is there a limit? Does it need to be 133 MHz?

Customer uses RAM for initialization of part, but wants to turn off clock. It is a 166 MHz part

  • I believe you meant SDRAM (not FDRAM or FBRAM). 150 MHz seems to be outside of the current datasheet specification.

If the customer is concerned about running into IO aging issue, I recommend connect the field sales supporting the customer to the BU marketing and experts to recommend the right path for the customer.

The issue is documented in the errata. Updated silicon samples with the fix will be available ~2Q13.
