Hello!

I am using DM3730 CBP package (12x12mm). My question is regarding pop memory package.

I know the pitch requirement is 0.5mm but not sure of about

What no. of balls (whether 168 or 137 balls) of package should be used?
Can i use pop memory having 0.5mm pitch and 137balls?
What is the difference between both, if both 168-balls and 137-balls package are supported?
Any vendors besides micron??Hynix provides 137-balls package.

I have checked EVM uses pop memory of 168 balls.

I searched a lot but cannot find relevant proof. Pls help me to understand.

Hi,

The DM3730 CBP package supports POP memory. It has the GPMC interface going to both top and bottom balls. The SDRC interface goes to the top. The CBP package has 515 balls on the bottom with 0.4mm Ball Pitch and 168 balls on top with 0.5mm Ball Pitch. Therefore you can use only 168-balls flash chips.

The other useful thing is the Pin MUX Utility. It is a Windows-based software tool which provides a Graphical User Interface for configuring pin multiplexing settings, resolving conflicts and specifying I/O cell characteristics for TI ARM MPUs. Results are output as C header files found in the Linux Software Development Kit (SDK).
