Android on DM814x

Hi,

I downloaded Android ICS for TI814xevm (from rowboat repo) and was able to bring up android on HDMI. however I have some queries.

--> If I have to build android ICS for a custom DM814x board. what are the dependencies that I need to consider while building this? besides the kernel, is there any specific change that needs to be done while building the filesystem? When I tried to do this by using the FileSystem generated from the code meant for the EVM on my custom board, the kernel got uncompressed but it stopped after giving the message "Starting Kernel" on the console. What dependencies does the board have wrt filesystem in this case.

--> Is there any plan to release Android JellyBean for ti814x/816x shotly?

Regards,

Karthik

  • Hi Karthik,

Filesystem modification should not affect kernel booting.

You may have to configure your Android build system and  HAL as per features supported by your board.

As of now there is no plan to support JellyBean for TI81xx devices.

    Thanks and Regards,
