Hey,
Are there any tutorial CD's available of this processor? If there are please post the link.
Is there any alternative to learn about 642? or about its interface with VM3224K2 daughterboard?
Naveen,
Have you checked these documentation available?
http://www.ti.com/product/tms320dm642
http://www.roinos.com/star/VM3224K2E_V1.1.pdf
Renjith,
Yes, I have referred to those. In that pdf "VM3224K2E" is connected to 6713. I tried connecting to DM642 but the pins of those two board doesnt align with each other :(
Naveen,
Are you referring to 6713 DSP starter kit? How you assume that VM3224K2E is compatible with DM642? What is your exact requirement?
I do have access to both 6713 DSP starter kit and also DM642.
There was a pdf in a CD which came along with TFT LCD Video Daughtercard (VM3224K2) which says
"Since the VM3224K2 satisfies TI DSK standard daughtercard interface, the product can be used with TI C6000 Starter Kit, TI C6000 EVM board and ND-Tech’s DSP STAR Starter Kit."
Since DM642 come under C6000 evm board i assumed that it could be connected
I think you assumption is wrong. Since each EVM will be having different interfaces, you cannot assume that it will work with all boards. If not explicitly specified, you cannot assume the interface works fine.
Oh thats bad :(
Ok my project is design a robot which detect color from camera and moves towards it/ pick it along with some voice command. I had planed to do it on DM642 and diplay on TFT screen.
does 6713 DSK has ability to handle all those?
Naveen,
You can still manage with DM642. You can use the analog composite video out from the EVM to connect to a TV and manage. In fact that will be an easier approach.
The only problem is I am not an expert in DM642. I can just modify some pre-written codes :)
Naveen,
You can check the software and tools available from TI on 642. You will be able to manage with the documentation provided.
