Using DSK6713 with CCS5.3 and WIndows7

Hello,

My students have been using the DSK6713 for a long time, developing projects based on CCS 3.3 on a Windows XP OS.

I would like to use DSK6713 with CCS 5.3 as well. When I connect the DSK6713, the driver is installed, and appears correctly in the Device Manager.

I created a target configuration for the DSK6713 with the XDS510USB emulator. When I test the connection I get the following message:

[Start]

Execute the command:

%ccs_base%/emulation/drivers/sdjtag.exe -f %boarddatafile% -v -X reset -X scantest

[Result]

** BoardFilePath: C:\Users\jfaing\AppData\Local\.TI\693494126\0\0\BrdDat\testBoard.dat ** Resetting Emulator      ERROR -- XDS510-USB Emulator not connected/enumerated

[End]

A similar error occur when I try to use the debug ,ode in CCS5, and download code to the target.

I would like to know if there are any constraints when using the DSK6713 with CCS 5.3.

Thank you,

Jacob

  • Jacob,

There have been a few posts by people who have successfully moved to CCSv5 with their DSK6713 boards. You may find a lot of helpful information by doing a search in this forum for various keywords like DSK6713 and CCSv5 and emulation and Target Configuration, etc.

The best place to start will be the TI Wiki Pages looking at the article GSG:Common target configurations. Search on that page for DSK6713 to see details on what you need to use for configuring your board for emulation on CCSv5.

Please let us know if that helps or if you still have problems with emulation.
