DSP Suggestions?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6748

Being a complete newbie I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a beginner DSP system.  I'm just starting a audio amp project that might use a little noise cancellation and other basic functions.

Since I'm just getting started, a reasonably easy to use and priced, development system would also be an important consideration.

Would a dev system that utilized Matlab be something I should look into?

Thanks,

  • Tom,

Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages. Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics.

The first thought that comes to my mind is the TMS320C6748. You can go to that Product Folder and look for tools. I believe there are a range of development boards that should work well for your development project.

MatLab is a very powerful tool for developing algorithms and visualizing them, with interfaces to convert block diagrams to DSP code. I have not used it, but I know that many very sophisticated customers use it and some newbies, too.
