DM8148 not booting when serial cable is connected

Hi,

The DM8148 EVM board boots fine from SD card when serial cable is not connected. But whenever I connect serial port and try to boot EVM, EVM is not booting. I'm seeing some corrupt data on minicom terminal which is not at all helpful.

Is there anything I'm missing?

Following are some details about serial port setup:

Bps/Par/Bits : 115200 8N1

Hardware/Software Flow Control: No

Following is output I'm getting on minicom terminal:

What are your BTMODE[4:0] settings (S1 on EVM)?

Switch S1, S1[5:1] ==> 10111 , other pins are 0

NAND/SPI Boot are 00 on SW2.

Settings on SW13 are also 0000.

Rajnikant, my colleagues here recollect they have had this issue with bad serial cables and/or bad USB to serial adapters. Could you try with another cable? The BTMODE[4:0] values are OK - MMC is first boot device.

USB to serial adapter cable was the culprit. We were trusting cables/adapters as it had worked well till today morning.
