How to boot DSPC-8681 in ethernet boot mode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678

Hi folks

I am running DSPC-8681,which has four TMS320C6678.
for loading image, i am using PCIe interface as explained in the user manual and desktop linux sdk.
http://downloadt.advantech.com/ProductFile/Downloadfile1/1-M1Q98N/DSPC-8681E_UserGuide_0_6.pdf
that is working fine. but now I want load the image using ethernet boot mode, using a host application

I have some some questions:
Does it has ethernet boot mode support as tms320c6678 ?
If yes the how we can change the boot mode of DSPC-8681.?
if we can do do this using boot pins then what are the boot pin configuration to choose the ethernet boot mode.?

The defualt ibl is BIG endian or little. ?? If little than what is the procedure to flash the ibl on DSPC-8681E ??
as it uses the pci interface.?

Thanks

mw

  • Hi Wajid,

You need to get in touch with Advantech board for the bootstrap settings. The C6678 indeed supports the ethernet boot . The ibl is by default built in little endian mode. Again IBL uses the platform lib for signle C6678 evm. You again might need to get the plaform lib for the speicific board you are using from Advantech.

    Thanks,

    Arun.
