Video processor recommendation?

Hello,

I am a student from Texas Tech. I am actually working on designing a robot which is to be intended for video processing applications such as color recognition, pattern recognition and length measurements. The processor should also be able to generate PWM signals for controlling motors. What kind of a DSP/development board would you suggest?

Thank you

  • Sri Harsha,

Many apologies for the forum messing up on your post here. Long story, but it is now removed from the unrelated thread it was on and is now in the OMAP4 Forum.

You may want to start at TI.com, on the Applications tab to look at recommendations for various application areas. The block diagrams and device recommendations can be very helpful. There may also be useful articles if you search through the TI Wiki Pages.

My recommendation is to look at the OMAP4 device and go to the pandaboard.org open support site to learn about a development platform for it and to get the available support.

The next recommendation would be OMAP3, and go to the beagleboard.org open support site to learn about a development platform for that family and to get the available support.

The DM3x family of devices may also work well, but the open support sites for the two OMAP families are very attractive for many users.

    Regards,
    RandyP
