AM335x NOR Flash Interface

Hi,

I want to interface 8MBytes Parallel interface NOR Flash through GPMC but in the TRM its mentioned starts from 16MBytes but lower memory can be interface with aliasing effect.

Can any one tell me the issues occur with this aliasing and any remedy for the same.

Also guide me if need to use min 16MBytes NOR flash only.

Hi Vageesh,

Nothing particular should occur, except that the 8MB memory can be accessed at two locations inside the 16MB CS region - each NOR address will be accessible in the 0-8MB region, and again on the 8-16MB region.

Hi Biser,

Thanks for your feedback, this is applicable for even lower density flash right... means for 4MB or 2MB NOR Flash...

Yes, only they will be replicated 4 or 8 times in the 16MB CS region.
