Questions on OMAP-L138/TMS320C6748 EVM kit

Hi,

I'm in the market for buying a new DSP (the current is a TMS320F28335). I would like to have better ADC, memory and something to grow with and the OMAP-L138/TMS320C6748 EVM kit ($1050...) seems to have that.

1) What are the difference between all OMAP-L138/TMS320C6748 kits (see http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/omap_applications_processors/f/42/t/232285.aspx)?

2) Is there example code that comes with the kit that utilizes the on-board 20 MSPS ADC?

3) Will the ADC and other peripherals work if I only run my code from the C6748 SOM, or is the OMAP SOM needed for some things?

4) From what I understand the OMAP is linux based. What does this mean in terms of programming? I'm used to C++ in CCS from my F28335, can this be used in the same manner if I have a C6748 SOM?

C6748 and OMAP-L138 both contains Starterware which has the example codes of your interest.

ADC examples are available in both C6748 starterware and also in OMAP-L138 starterware. So you may use either C6748 or OMAP-L138.
Though we support Linux based development on OMAP-L138(DSP+ARM) the base DSP in OMAP-L138 is C6748 only. So their might not be a big difference is programming point of view in working with CCS.
