scan rate conversion support on DM8148

Hi,

From DM8148/DM816x datasheet, I notice the following in HDVPSS features:
Format conversions (up to 1080p 60 Hz) include scan format conversion, scan rate conversion, aspect-ratio conversion, and frame size conversion.

However, in DM816x Revision History, I notice this:
Deleted HDVPSS Features list item: Advanced Video Processing Features Such Channels as Scan, Format, Rate Conversion

Does it mean that TI will not support this feature in DM816x? How about DM8148? I could not find the related contents in DM8148 technical reference manual.

Can anyone advise?

What exactly you want. We can tell whether that feature is supported or not. But yes scanrate conversion is supported on both 816 and 814 although performance will be different. Best is to let me know what exactly you want.

What we need is to convert the frame rate of input video source to output a fixed frame rate (60 fps). For example, if input video source is 30 or 50 fps, how do we configure to make DM8148 video output as 60 fps? Does dm8148 support this conversion?

Hi,

This conversion is not supported in hardware. But it can be easily done in software by repeating frames or dropping frames. Our DVR RDK reference design supports it like capturing at 60FPS but encoding at 50FPs etc.
