ARM3359 ADC analog input range.

Hi all,

I want to know the analog input range of AM3359 ADC channels. I didn't get this information in datasheet or technical manual.

Also i want to connect an analog input of 2-10V range and 4-20mA input current, to ADC channel. Is it okay? Or do i have to use step down circuit to reduce the voltage?

Please point to some application note if possible.

Hi Prateek,

The ADC input range is described in the AM335X Datasheet, Rev.E, Table 3-15. VDDA_ADC is 1.8V (Table 3-10). In summary ADC input range is from 0 to 1.8V. You will need preconditioning in order to connect the sources you mention.

Thanks for reply. What about input current range? I understand, i will have to use some kind of voltage divider circuit for voltage step-down.

4-20mA is an industry standard which eliminates voltage drops over long cables by transferring current rather than voltage. You will need to convert this to voltage input for the ADC.
