failing installing ti-sdk-beagleboard-05.05.01.00 on Ubuntu 12.04

Hi,

I am working on BeagleBoard xM for 3730. I have bought the board last week.

I have installed VirtualBox 4.2.8 onto my Windows 7. I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 and have sharing enabled as well as my bootable SD card visible

within Ubuntu. I installed ti-sdk-beagleboard-05.05.01.00 without CCS which it could find. But still went ahead with the installation.

Then I did "./setup.sh" and it gives the below error.

Verifying Linux host distribution Unsupported host machine, only Ubuntu 10.04 LTS supported Failed setup, aborting..

I do realize that this ti-sdk-beagleboard-05.05.01.00 is for Ubuntu 10.04. I was wondering if there is a way to fix this failure?

Any suggestions and help would be very much appreciated.

Asha,

Although the 05.05.01.00 only supports Ubuntu 10.04 officially and is only tested on this version, you can modify the bin/setup-host-check.sh script to check for your particular version of Linux. Please keep in mind that this is NOT tested on any version of Ubuntu other than 10.04.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your suggestion.

I commented out the "exit 1" because I did not know what to modify to "check" my version.

This did go ahead and installed but we will see if it works.
