Hi,

In general, which booting procedure is the most popular?
I think the following methods are present.
MMC, NAND, XIP (Nor or other XIP device), UART, Ethernet, SPI and USB.

Well it depends on the board. For development purposes by all means the SD card boot is most suitable. For end-user equipment it would have to be a memory boot - NAND or NOR, depends on a lot of factors like speed, price etc.
