question about message

I use rdk3.0 and test long time and got the following messages twice.

Does anyone know about this?

  • The display link prints status a status msg once every 24 hours or so. This is not an error msg. You can ignore the msg if system is functional.

    I found that the following is different from the first-post.  Do you know the meaning of the variable ????
      HDDAC(BP0) : 59 fps

  • 59 fps looks correct. This is the display fps. If you are running 1080P60 display it should be 59 or 60.

  • Hi Badri,

       Initially "HDDAC value is 59 fps, after I test long time such as two days, I found the value was reduced. Sometimes it may be 4, 10, or 11 ...
       It's like you said the messages will display every 24hr. But the value was decreased as the above.

       Does it mean there's something wrong?

  • It looks like the statistics counter is overflowing causing wrong value for fps. You can ignore it if you don't see any visual effect.

  • It is 60fps, in two days counter will be around 60*60*60*48.

  • It is correct, but if you run it for 2 days, it will be multiplied by 2.

    The difference between these two underflow count tells VENCs ran for around 1 hour and then it stopped. Are you seeing anythink on display? Can you please check why it is stopped?

    - nothing wrong on display. the preview behavior is just normal  and no more error messages were shown.

  • Hi Jack,

     

    There are only two possibilities, either display is stopped, in this case, you will not see anything on TV or display device or display ie complete chain is restarted or display resolution is changed to some lower fps resolution. Can you check if any of these is happening.

    This display fps is not exactly VENC fps, this is the fps at which frames are submitted to the display driver. One thing is decode statistics show that fps is 0. Could you check why decode fps is 0? It could be because of decode not giving frames to display, display fps is slowing down to 0.

    in our case, we just have 16 channels analog input and without bitstream for decoding. So I think it shouldn't be the problem in decode. Any further idea?

  • There are no issues with the other links statistics.It looks like swms is delivering frames to display correctly which means display is consuming frames at the correct rate.. What are you seeing on the display ? Is it frozen ? You have only 1 swms instance. What have you connected to the other displays ?

    - I see the preview and found nothing strange. It is not frozen.

    - We didn't connect the other displays because we just use On-chip HDMI for display.

    Any further idea?
