am335x Starter kit - UART

Dear all,

we are developing on a am335x starter kit, we need to develope something for UART trasmission so we'd like to know if it is possible to access at some uart (except for the uart used for the console) or they are all internal connected.

Hi Giuseppe,

The Starter Kit board design files can be found here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335x_StarterKit_Board_Design_Files

On page 3 of the schematics there is a Zigbee header J11. Signals AM335X_SPI0_SCLK and AM335X_SPI0_D0 on this header can be pinmuxed to UART2 RXD/TXD.

I too want to do this. I have the starter kit and I want to use the two pins in the zigbit header as uart.

My problem is that all instructions for switching the pin mux and configuring the uart talk about an "omap_mux" file that does not exist under /sys/kernel/debug/ where it should be. Can someone give me a step by step of how to enable and use the uart using the prebuild linux sd card?

Oh yeah, for the record, I'm accessing the rootfs via ssh and I'm developing in QT creator.
