Is there a way to control the encode / decode via keypad of dm36X evm?

Its possible to do this. You've to modify the encode/decode application to listen to the keypad event, and take suitable action.

I want to write a script that capture / recognize if REC key is pressed, if yes - the script will run the encode application.

Instead of reading a file, there are API to get events from user. One example is "getchar()".

I tried to capture key by the following:

But this code works good only for keyboard of PC that connected to teratermor other serial console application.

I want to get key from the keys located on the DM36X EVM.

For example, I want to know when user press on SW18 (REC Button) on the DM36X EVM.

How can I do that?

A simple way out is there. For this can change the driver of keypad to report the keys that you need. Check the driver code for the current keys that its sending now. There will be the API input_report_key() which you can check.
