OMAP system troubleshooting

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65920, OMAP3530

I've been tasked to look over the "fallout" from a recent production run of boards using the TPS65920 PMIC and OMAP3530 processor.  First one out of the box has a possibly static zapped PMIC chip, fair enough.  Second one is stuck pulsing the warm reset line every 7.5mS.  All powers look good, all clocks look good, input current looks to be within limits although the profile over time is indicating a stuck processor.  Several GPIO's from the OMAP that are supposed to be high impedance are driving low.  Some kind of fault condition is indicated it seems, just not sure if it's in the processor or the PMIC chip.  Any ideas as to what might be causing the continuous resets?

  • Hi Jeff,

There are various possible reasons for these fault conditions but the most probable some fault due to PMIC chip and power supply. If the problem appears only on one board it should be due to some defect in power lines. If the hardware is ok you could check all clocks are they right.
