CAMERA: Overflow detected &REISZER OVERFLOW OCCURED: RESTARTING.

Hi,

I am working with 8148 EVM, using Ipnc 3.2. I build program exactly by following the IPNC_RDK_InstallGuide .But when I power on , the serial outpout the print line of following incessantly and the video output interruptedly very bad.

[m3vpss ]  271588: CAMERA: Overflow detected on VP0, Total Resets = 2677

[m3vpss ]  271588: CAMERA: Overflow detected on VP1, Total Resets = 2677

[m3vpss ] ######REISZEROVERFLOWOCCURED:RESTARTING...############################

[m3vpss ]  271638: CAMERA: Overflow detected on VP0, Total Resets = 2678

[m3vpss ]  271638: CAMERA: Overflow detected on VP1, Total Resets = 2678

[m3vpss ] ######REISZEROVERFLOWOCCURED:RESTARTING...############################

[m3vpss ]  271688: CAMERA: Overflow detected on VP0, Total Resets = 2679

[m3vpss ]  271688: CAMERA: Overflow detected on VP1, Total Resets = 2679

after the above error messages stopping, the serial start to outpout the print line of following:

[m3vpss ] Error :: core/src/isp_msp.c : MSP_ISP_config : 769 ::

[m3vpss ]  Exiting because: (NULL == pQueue->pHandle)

[m3vpss ] Error :: core/src/isp_msp.c : MSP_ISP_config : 769 ::

[m3vpss ]  Exiting because: (NULL == pQueue->pHandle)

[m3vpss ] Error :: core/src/isp_msp.c : MSP_ISP_config : 764 ::

[m3vpss ]  Exiting because: (NULL == pQueue)

[m3vpss ] Error :: core/src/isp_msp.c : MSP_ISP_config : 764 ::

[m3vpss ] Error :: core/src/isp_msp.c : MSP_ISP_config : 764 ::

Could anyone tell me how to work it out. Thanks

Albert

  • Hello,

    I am not familiar with IPNC RDK, but is seems VIP is overflowing continuously. Check your input signals.

    Best Regards,

    Margarita

  • Hi,

    What is the input resolution? what is the ddr frequency?

    it is not vip which is overflowing. it is resizer in ISS which is overflowing. It could be because of low ddr bandwidth or wrong resizer configuration.

    Regards,

    Brijesh Jadav

  • Hi,Brijesh Jadav

    input resolution:1080p 60fps; ddr colck:400Mhz (I had tried to changed the frequency from 400Mhz to 533Mhz,but it didn't work)

    I had not modified any parameters on resizer configuration. I just used the Use_case Demo which offered by TI originally.

    Honestly, that's an old board. Any chance dose the hardware result in this issue.

  • Hi Albert,

    Could you try changing ddr frequency to 533MHz?

    I will check with the team about old hardware, btw, what is the hardware revision?

    Regards,

    Brijesh Jadav

  • Hi,Brijesh Jadav

    I  tried to change ddr frequency to 533Mhz before.But the issue still exists.

    The hardware revision :DM8127 IPNC Rev 0.6

  • Hi,Margarita

    Thank you all the same. one of hardware engineers in our company have checked the input signals,he said:" it's ok! Not things wrong with the input signals." At the same time, we found a phenomenon as below.

    When increasing the Iris, the serial outpout the print line as following(Abnormal), and the video will be flickering.

    [m3vpss ]  271588: CAMERA: Overflow detected on VP0, Total Resets = 2677

    [m3vpss ]  271588: CAMERA: Overflow detected on VP1, Total Resets = 2677

    When decreasing the Iris, the serial outpout the print line as following(Normal):

  • Hi Albert,

    Could you please share your complete boot up log?

    Also this is very old release, is it possible to migrate to 3.5 release?

    Regards,

    Brijesh Jadav

  • Hi,Brijesh Jadav

    Here are two complete boot up log files I have uploaded.One is the normal log for decreasing the Iris, another is the abnormal log for creasing the Iris.

    I have gotten the 3.5 release Software form TI,But I got the same problem when I used 3.5 release. Now,I still used the 3.2 release.

    Thank you for so much helps.I really hope I can solve the problem asap.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Albert,

    Could you please reattach? i could not get it.

  • This issue has been talked about many times.
    check this thread: http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/f/716/p/242555/851247.aspx#851247

    I just tried new ver3.0 silicon, it still has occasional resizer hang, but it's about 30~50 times less likely.
