It may just be a matter of changing some script files from #!/bin/sh to #!/bin/bash

Default location with AMSDK 05.06 is

~/ti-sdk-am335x-evm-05.06.00.00/linux-devkit/bin/

The issue is use of $BASH_SOURCE which is not portable to the default shell which is /bin/bash.

/bin/sh is a symbolic link to /bin/bash since Ubuntu 6.10.

I am sorry for the beginner question... but what does it mean to change executable arm-arago-linux-gnueabi-gdb from: #!/bin/sh to #!/bin/bash. can you be more detailed what actions/commands should be executed ?

At the top of a script file you specify which command shell will be used to execute the commands in the script.

Usually, this is:

#!/bin/sh

This is a generic command shell.  On Ubuntu, since v6.10 this maps to the dash command shell.  You can see on your system that /bin/sh is a symbolic

link that points to /bin/dash.  dash is kind of a subset of the bash shell.  Normally it is good to write scripts that are portable between dash and bash.

In AM335x EZSDK 05.06 there are "stub scripts" in the folder ~/ti-sdk-am335x-evm-05.06.00.00/linux-devkit/bin/ that are not portable to the dash shell

yet they have #!/bin/sh.  These scripts use the bash variable $BASH_SOURCE.  That was an oversight on our part.  To work around this problem

the script in that folder named arm-arago-linux-gnueabi-gdb needs to be editted.  At the top of the file, change #!bin/sh to #!/bin/bash.

This will be corrected in Am335x EZSDK 05.07 due 3/30/2013.
