OMAP/TMS320C674x vs Blackfin 548

Hi to everybody.
Probably my request is very academic but I would like to ask the community about they opinion of selecting the platform for future mass production.
Please DO NOT consider the price different it's quite obvious for all of us =)
I would like hear your opinion either based on your experience or motivated hardware level fact.
Development environment doesn't make big difference for us, since we are quite happy with Linux. God bless Torvalds.

As I mentioned before, my question is more academical rather then commercial, therefore I'm not considering the price, and I think that power consumption doesn't bring significant difference. Yes we may argue that different DSP architecture realizations in terms of chip layout level, will lead to different power consumption/ efficiency. But in this request I would like to compare pure performance of DSP core at certain frequency.

Relating to the features - I believe that this is the major influence for the cost of the product. Since all processors in modern world and in embedded world especially are SoC. So interfaces and abilities to integrate in different environment are quite valuable, but makes direct comparison of the part useless. That's why I rather will prefer to compare cores than microprocessors as whole.

But I will agree with you that such requirements as time access to the external memory is very valuable.

So let's say that we will compare DSP cores as such, do we have any reference points to turn our conversation from "brand" to hardware architecture discussion?

Thank you in advance for sharing your precious opinion with a stranger.
