DM816x Decoder Problem

Hi.

Recently, I posted some dei related question. (http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/davinci_digital_media_processors/f/717/t/250974.aspx)

After applying the posted modification to my RDK, I can decode with tiler enabled.

But, if i enable the tiler in decLink, decoder hangs in 2~3 hours

and prints "IPCBITSOUT:!!!WARNING.!!! NO FREE BUF AVAILABLE. OCCURENCE COUNT" continuously.

And, if tiler is disabled, the problem seems to disappear.

I think that this problem comes from revision change.

When I use DM8168 rev1.1 with DVRRDK 2.00.00.23, all are OK.

But, using DM8167 rev2.0, this problem occurred with all RDK.( RDK2.00.00.23, RDK3.00.00.00. RDK3.50.00.05 )

I'm using DVRRDK 3.50.00.05, DM8167 rev2.0, 1GB DDR2(not DDR3) Memory with 256MB linux mem.

    Pls share the full console logs when you see the issue. I want to check if any exception is reported on M3. Pls confirm you are using uboot from RDK 3.5 . If you dont use tiler do you not see the issue ? Do you have DMM interleaving enabled.Have you run memory stress test for long duration on your board ?

    There's no any exceptional message when this issue occurred. Exactly, no other message is printed except "NO FREE BUF AVAILABLE".

    My u-boot is from RDK 1.06. I'll check again with u-boot from RDK3.5.

    I tested for 24 hours without tiler, and couldn't see the issue. After applying your modification from previous post, I can test with tiler enabled.

    But this issue occurred twice in 2~3 hours. So, again I disabled tiler, and for 12 hours there was no issue.

    I think my board's memory stress test is enough, because i tested  for months without any problem.(DM8168 rev1.1 board)

    Are you running remote_debug_client when you run the application. Exception msgs will be rpinted only if remote_debug_client is run.If you use uboot from RDK 3.5 without modifications it will have DMM interleaved.

    Yes. I'm running remote_debug_client. All debug related define is enabled SYSTEM_DEBUG_DEC/SYSTEM_DEBUG_ENC etc..

    Also, any other exception messages are printed.

    Only in this case, no other message is printed.

    This is normal stop progress message.(Some encoder channel is disabled for now)

    And, if decoder hangs, i can't go over decoder stop progress.

    I'll test bit more and post the results.
