Thanks for your information. This CCS is free or trial version or we have to pay to download this. Also I want to know Can I use lower version of CCS (v3) to compile the Linux source code for DM8168.

The reference to the use of CCS and DM816x is for CCSv5 and CCSv4, like marked in next link

I cannot find a reference to CCSv3 downloads to check for the compatibility with DM186x. It is recommended to use recent versions.

Hi Manuel,

I have installed the CCS in my Windows PC. I want to debug the kernel in my target. I am using JTAG emulator (XDS510 USB). I connected my target with the JTAG emulator. But I don't know how to access the RAM through this CCS.

Please give me any solutions to do the same. I have loaded the GEL file also Code Composer Studio. I can able to boot the system from CCS. I want to read/write the RAM from my target through JTAG emulator.

I may need to investigate if it is make the same way CCSv5 as in CCSv4, but there should be a memory windows that is used to show memory areas, try to search for it. If you have the memory window check if JTAG is connected to ARM side, I only have used XDS560 USB for DSP debugging.

Another idea is to update CCSv5 to get latest files then try.

Let me check it again in CCSv5.

Actually memory window means, here what you are mentioning. I have selected the memory map in tools -> Memory Map. It is showing some lists of memory address. I don't know how to proceed further. I just wanna to read/write the RAM in my target.

Can you give me any procedure to do this. Here I can able to boot the target from CCS. But I want to access the RAM. I am struggling with this and also I couldn't proceed to next step. Blocking in this point. 

Can you give me any solution to do the same

It targets AM335x but AM389x is quite comparable so most of it might apply.
