DM368 HD-SDI in/out; BT1120 in/out

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0031, LMH0030, LMH0046, LMH0034

We want to dewarp a HD-SDI signal from a security cctv (fisheye) camera with an HD-SDI output (1920x1080p 30 frames) with a DM368.  The output signal of the system should be a (dewarped) analog PAL - signal and HD-SDI signal.

1.) We have seen that the the video - frontend of the DM368 can be cofigured to an Image sensor interface or to a BT1120 input interface. Is it possible to use a Deserializer e.g TI`s LMH0031 to receive/decode the HD-SDI signal and connect the output signals of the deserializer direct ("glueless") to the DM368 BT1120 interface ? Is the output of the deserializer a BT1120 signal ?

2.) The output of the DM368 should be a HD-SDI signal (1920x1080p 30 frames). As far we have seen the output is only a BT656 (D1 signal, no HD), but threr are analog HD output signals  (eg 1080i/720p) possible. Is there a possibility to generate a BT1120 signal, and then to generate from this signal with a serializer eg. LMH0030 a HD-SDI signal ?

  • 1). Yes i believe we should be able to use LMH0031 de-serializer to output Bt1120 to DM368. However; we don't have a reference design where this has been implemented. Please note LMH0031 has low, ~0.2UI, input jitter tolerance at high frequency. The suggestion is to use LMH0046 reclocker to provide much better input jitter tolerance(~0.65UI). So the SDI video flow would be from BNC -> LMH0034 -> LMH0046 -> LMH0031.

2). We have another customer which uses Bt1120 on LMH0030 side. They essentially use 1080P30 20 bits @ 74.25MHz on the parallel video side. LMH0030 has low intrinsic jitter so there is no need for the jitter attenuator like on the LMH0031 side. Please note typical jitter on the VCLK pin should be 30ps.
