C5505 reserved pins

Our new PCBs are in and the RTC oscillator is not oscillating. After a through check, the only apparent issue is 5 of the reserved pins (RSV0, RSV3-RSV5 and RSV16) where left floating. Is this going to cause problems?

BTW, this is not our first C55XX design, just the first to have floating reserved pins and a non-functioning RTC oscillator.

Steve

  • Yes. All RSV pins must be tied correctly to Vss or CVDD according to data manual for proper device operation.

For RSV16, data manaul has options. You can tie it directly to Vss if it is easier.

  • Yes.

These RSV pins directly affect Power-on-reset and LDOs, which can prevent RTC oscillator from being enabled...

These inputs pins must be tied according to the datasheet.
