NTSC image quality issue: SD VENC problem?

Dear Sirs,

I use DM8148 and HDVPSS_01_00_01_33 to display image on SD channel.

I have image quality issue to consult TI's experts.

Picture1 is normal image get from VPSS-M3 dispaly buffer.

Pitcure2 is problematic image on SD display channel and get from my NTSC capture card. (I am sure capture card is fine)

The red circled image has apparent leaving streaks (or smearghost).

When I move my business card, the streak will be move with it.

I wonder if SD VENC setting about DC filter is incorrect or someone can give me a hint to find out the root cause.

I use av_bios_sdk_00_04_00_00, not EZSDK.

Are you able to try with the CRT monitor to verity this problem is still exist?

Dear Anfernee,

I use Tektronix 1741C to get NTSC image as below.

It still exist smearghost on the red circled.

I also attach display buffer image from VSPP-M3 as below.

I still doubt that SD VENC is something wrong.

Hi Kuve,

There are some SD issues was fixed in SD VENC after the driver version (1.00.01.33) you used now. It would be better if you can upgrade the driver to our upcoming 0.45 release.

I get hdvpss_01_00_01_44 and use avsdk_00_08_00_00.

But the problem still exist. Can you try it or provide hdvpss_01_00_01_45 for me?

The issue was resolved by writing to 0x4814_0670 (SD_DAC_CTRL register) to change ACEN value, from AC coupling (1) to DC coupling (0).

p.s. If there is a problem to write it , make sure unlocked protected system control MMR regions (0x600 – 0x800) – by writing 0xF757_FDC0 to MMR_LOCK1 registers (base_addr= 0x4814_0000 offset = 64h, reset=0xFDF45530)

According to Anfernee's suggestion, 0x48140670 (SD_DAC_CTRL register) to change ACEN value, from AC coupling (1) to DC coupling (0).
