Porting NAND on AM335xevm_sk

Hello

We designed the custom board with the reference of AM335xevm_sk board. additionally we have added the micron 512MB(4Gb) 16bit NAND flash. I have configured the pinmux for NAND in kernel.

But how to add NAND functionality in u-boot. ?

Whats the procedure to add NAND functionality and how to build image for NAND ?

Hi Sangili,

The U-Boot that comes with the current PSP (version 05.06.00.00) already has NAND support. Here is a link to the AM335x U-Boot User's Guide.

This is how you build U-Boot:

make CROSS_COMPILE=arm-arago-linux-gnueabi- ARCH=arm am335x_evm

Hi Sangili,

Other than pin-mux you have to configure GPMC (NAND) controller for 16-bit flash support. In u-boot, GPMC configured for 8-bit part. Also please be careful about ECC lay out.

You can see <arch/arm/cpu/armv7/am33xx/mem.c> file in U-boot for gpmc configuration.
