AM3359ZCZ booting abnormal

Hey,

I have a design using AM3359ZCZ and the problem is that I found 2 boards (out of twelve I have made) have the following same booting issue:

After pressing the reset bottom, the console( via serial port) immediately shows "U-Boot SPL 2012.10-00010-g847bb01 (Oct 25 2012 -11:41:49)"

and then it hangs, but after a while it continues to boot normally, the period is uncertain and can range from several seconds to several minutes.

I guess it maybe a soldering issue, does anyone have the same problem before, thanks!

PS:

The design is based on beagle bone, it has 256M ram and boots from uSD card.

Hi Qi,

Hi Biser,

Not yet. I'm still using the beagle bone default settings.

Do you know in which file I could modify those EMIF settings and which parameter do you think might be linked to my problem?

Hi Biser,

Thanks! I will go through the DDR configuration.

While when CPU hangs in that case, it doesn't even respond to the hardware reset. Is that normal or something else goes wrong? I would believe even with a DDR problem the hardware reset should never stop to work.

Yes, hardware reset should work. Since you are saying above that this are 2 boards out of 12, maybe there is something wrong on the 2 boards.
