Dual-Stream DVO1 Output in DM8148

Hello,

Can somebody please help us on how to configure the dual-stream 656 format using the DVO1 of the DM8148?

We do not find the relevant registers from the DM8148 Manual. Is the register configurations documented in seperate document?

Thanks

  • Hi Ravindra,

You could use sysfs entry output to set the output interface to BT656. Please go through Fbdev use guide to get idea.

  • Brijesh,

Thanks a lot for the reply.

Is the FBDev user Guide part of the ezsdk_dm814x-evm_5_05_02_00_setuplinux binary file or is it a seperate document that can be accessed?

Also, I wanted to know if both DVO1 and DVO2 can be enabled simultaneously and can both of them be configured to operate in Dual-Stream 656 Format at the same time.

    Thanks,

    Ravindra

  • Hi Ravindra,

We could have single BT656 or single BT1120 output from DVO1/2, but could not have dual stream BT656 output as i replied in other forum.

Could you please explain, exactly what is your use case?

  • Brijesh,

    Thanks for the further reply.

We have a system which accepts 4 compressed D1 video streams coming via the network. We are planning to use the Ducati/Cortex-M3 to decode the same. Once they are decoded, the 4 streams will be stored in seperate SDRAM buffers and we need to transmit the Digital Video output to an FPGA which will be connected at the output of the VPSS.

The SPRUGZ8C.PDF Section 12.6.2.2 explains the Video output formats in which dual-stream 656 mode and triple-stream 656 modes are claimed to be supported.

Since we have 4 streams, we are thinking if it is possible to enable both DVO1 and DVO2 such that both of them operate in dual-stream 656 Format. DVO1 sending out the first two decoded streams and DVO2 sending out the last two decoded streams.

    Thanks,

    Ravindra
