TMS320C6748 custom board problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6748

Hi,

We have designed a custom board of tms320c6748 and there will be a current problem with 1.8 volt.

When we supply power to board and release from reset then  the 1.8 volt of processer will take 500mA current and this wil make a processor heat up.

Other voltages like 3.3 and 1.3 are fine.

We can not use DDR on custom board.

The working of board is fine we connect it to CCS and load a program and the program of blinking led is fine and it will work.

Only problem is the current problem which is due to 1.8volt.

Thanks

Is the issue with no use of DDR a design feature of the custom board or is this also a problem on the board. I am trying to connect or separate these two sentences above.

When you are sequencing the various power supplies on during the power-up sequence. can you tell when the high current demand begins? This may be a helpful indicator of the location of the problem.

All of the 1.8V I/Os supplied by that power line will need to be checked to see if they operate correctly and at the correct voltage level.
