Question about MPlayer in MCSDK video demo

Hi,

The link: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MCSDK_VIDEO_2.1_PKT_Demo_Guide

talked the MPlayer compatibility problem with Windows 7. I cannot find the MPUI.2008-02-10 on line. I get a newer version MPlayer. After the installation, I find that it can play I previously saved .mpg file. I don't know this tells whether this MPlayer can work in the video demo or not?

The above link also says sv01.out is image file:

Change the Current Directory to the directory (<MCSDK Video Install Dir>\mcsdk_video_2_1_x_x\demos\pkt_xxx_demo\customBuild\tftp) that contains the DSP image sv01.out. Click the Show Dir button to confirm that sv01.out is located in that directory.

I try load to MPlayer, but it cannot show any image at all. sv01.out is not a pure image data, it seems. But it has 21,753 KB in size. I don't know what code/data structure in it. Is there a simple way to test MPlayer works or not for the Video demo in Windows 7?

Thanks,

  • Hi Robert, sv01 is a DSP application image. Newer Mplayer versions should work OK for playing the transcoded image, however please remember to disable firewalls (if any), also check that Mplayer installation is in the right path (C:\Program Files\MPlayer for Windows), and that the file of mplayer.exe exists at "C:\Program Files\MPlayer for Windows\mplayer".

    Thank you,

    Paula
