Hi,

when I do a hot plug with my board which based on beaglebone,the board entrys an error state,it doesn't work any more.

Normally,doing a hot-plug means a power-on reset,and the board works OK.

But,sometimes,the board boots failed,it is reseted by the external watchdog ,I disable the internal watchdog,and using an external watchdog.

I found that the supply of TPS65217 is OK(3V3A,3V3B,and so on).

I use a XDS100v2 connect the CPU througth the JTAG interface, it successed.

control_status Register ，0x44e10040,value is 0x00400300，SYSBOOT：0x4000，it is error.

what‘s wrong?

What do you mean by hot plug? How does the external watchdog reset your board?

Hi,

hot plug means a power-on reset,and the external watchdog reset pin connects to the nRESETIN_OUT pin of CPU.

There are differences between power-on reset (hot plug in your case) and warm reset (which is what you do through the external watchdog). These can be seen in Table 8-23 in the AM335X Technical Reference Manual. Particularly, SYSBOOT values are not latched on warm reset. If SYSBOOT values are not latched correctly on power-on reset you should check your power-on sequencing (AM335X Datasheet, section 4.1.1) and PORz timing (AM335X TRM, section 8.1.7.3.1).

Hi,Biser Gatchev-XID:

The resistance connect to the SYSBOOT pin is 100KΩ of the beaglebone,What I doubt is that the resistance value is too large,So the resistance of my board is 10KΩ.and,I also do a test for 1KΩ,It seems OK.

Is the value 100KΩ appropriate for SYSBOOT pins ?

100K pull-ups and 10K pull-downs are used on the EVM and Starter Kit boards.
