The Mistral EVM uses AR8031 phy with a TE 6605814-6.
My Question: Has anyone on this forum used a different MAG45 jack other than the TE without problems?

Hi Patrick,
Here is a comment on the PHY:

My guess is that the concrete MAG45 receptacle shouldn't matter.

Hi Vladimir,
My question is when using AR8031 phy, will HFJV1-1G41-L12RL from halo work instead of EVM TE 6605814-6 jack?
I believe it will and am looking for confirmation. I need vertical style that TE does not make with magnetics.

Hi Patrick,
Initially from your first post I didn't figure out that you are concerned about the jack's integrated magnetics. I meant above MAG45. I am sorry. Are able to find somewhere to be strictly documented for that PHY that you could use non-magnetic jacks? If not - you cannot be sure for the PHY, I think. But regardless of that (possibly the PHY is not the only factor), you definitely prefer the ones with integrated magnetics.
Why you are hesitating to use vertical type with integrated magnetics? Are these more expensive? It is not known will these without integrated magnetics work and will there be problems. The ones with integrated magnetics are safer.
All of this is just my personal opinion. No guarantees.
Please, check this article, if you have not already:
Thank you.
