6482 DSK setup in code composer 5

I have been using Code Composer 3.3 for development with Spectrum Digital TMS320TCI6482 DSKs. I'm working on getting them to work with CC5 (version 5.3.0.00090).

When I create a new project om CC5, I set Device Family to C6000, Variant to TMS320C64XX...  but I don't see an appropriate secondary choice for Variant.

Am I picking the wrong options? Do I need to reinstall the Spectrum Digital drivers in the CC5 directory to get them to show up as options?

thanks,

Brad

  • Brad,

The TCIxxxx devices are not generally supported through the forum, but through your dedicated FAE. If you do not have contact information for your FAE, please contact your sales account manager for that information. The TCIxxxx devices are sold only to limited markets and not to the general public, so support is provided through direct channels for those customers.

I never use the Variant entry. If you leave it on "<select or type filter text>", then you can find DSKTCI6482 in the secondary list.

If you select "TCI High Performance DSP" in the Variant field, then 3 of the 4 options are related to the TCI6482. This is not a good choice for most other TCIxxxx devices, so I will caution other users from using it. But it would work for you. Or just leave it blank and you get all the choices as mentioned above.

Does this get what you need?

    Regards,
    RandyP

  • Ahh... yes...  (the answer always seems obvious, once you know it...)

    thanks!

  • Are you using a simulator or some emulator?

I sent you friend request to be able to use the conversation facility.

I'm another user of that chip.
