Web browser performance

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3358

Hello,

I am using a BeagleBone with a circuitco DVI cape to prototype a kiosk-style product. The BeagleBone is connected to a DVI touchscreen display, and it is running a web browser. The performance is much less than I believe the AM3358 is capable of. It can take over 5 seconds to see the browser respond to input. In particular, Javascript runs quite poorly.

I suspect that video drivers may be an issue. I am running Ubuntu 13.04 with kernel 3.2.33-psp26.1. I am using the arm-linux-gnueabihf- toolchain.

Can you offer any suggestions to improve performance?

Thank you,

Lyle Langpap

  • I can understand why my post was moved from the Sitara forum, but I think the Linux forum is a better place for it than the Android forum. I am using Ubuntu.

I am still trying to improve the browser performance. I haven't had much success yet.
