Install error with SYSBIOS 6.35.01.29 and XDCTOOLS 3.25.00.48

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSBIOS

Our team attempted to update to the latest SYSBIOS and XDCTOOLS today, but so far we are 2 for 2 with failed installs.  The error message is below.

Any ideas?

  • What CCS version are you on?  XDCTOOLS 3.25 can only be used with CCS v5.4

If you are on CCSv5.3 or earlier stick to XDCTOOLS 3.24

  • Thanks for the quick reply.  We are still using CCS v5.3, so that is why we had a problem.  By the way, we ran into this problem because when we went to the SYSBIOS download page, the "recommended" XDCTOOLS to use was 3.25.00.48.  There was no mention that CCS v5.4 was required.  If you go into the XDCTOOLS download page, you do see the red text that warns CCS v5.4 required.

Below is the web page that tripped us up.  The xdctools link goes right to the download link and doesn't mention the CCS v5.4 requirement.  However, in defense of TI, the release notes for XDCTOOLS 3.25 does mention CCS v5.4 is required.  Lesson learned to pay more attention to the release notes.

Below is the warning page you see ONLY IF you go to the XDCTOOLS download page.

Thanks again for setting us straight.

  • Hi Dean,

I've updated the recommended XDCtools links and added the requirement for CCSv5.4.0 for XDCtools 3.25.

Hopefully this will help others avoid the same issue.

    Thanks,
