Hi,

We have designed a custom board using c6748 processor.

For booting of SPI flash We use OMAP-L138_FlashAndBootUtils_2_40.

The problem is that when i run the utility sfh_OMAP-L138.exe in command line then it will stop at [ "Waiting for SFT on the OMAP-L138..." and nothing happens. ].

The command i use is sfh_OMAP-L138.exe -erase -targetType C6748.

This command is working fine on my logic pd kit but dont work on my custom board.

So any suggestions in this problem.

Serial flashing tool is customized for the components (SPI flash, DDR, etc)used on TI supported evaluation platforms. To reuse the software for custom boards you need to modify the code to work with the SPI flash used on the custom board. The process to customize the tool and rebuild it is described here:

These links tell us the ddr setting and uart setting.

But we cannot use ddr on custom board.

So now what can we do.

Hi Rana,

Does your board have no external memory? you will need to modify the memory map for the sft tool such that it will run from L3 memory then. We haven`t tried this before but it should be possible to do that. It might be quicker for you to use SPIWriter and right the bootimage over JTAG, the memory map in the CCS based SPI writer can be modiifed by simply modifying the linker command file.
