AM335x PIN Multiplexing of the USB PINs - GPIO usage

Which USB PINs can be used for GPIO at the AM335x family. Referring to the PIN MUX Tool only USBx DRVVBUS  pins can be used for GPIO.

Please confirm!

Please refer also the Reference Manual chapter which describes the MUX capability of individual pins.

Regards,

Franz

  • Hi Franz,

Please refer to page 46 of the datasheet. As you can see there only USB0_DRVVBUS and USB1_DRVVBUS can be muxed as GPIOs.

    Best regards,
    Miroslav

  • Hi Franz,

You should check Table 2-7 in the AM335X Datasheet, where all pin modes are listed. For the USB you are right, only USBx_DRVVBUS pins can be used as GPIOs. You should tke care though, if you plan to use the USB in host or OTG mode, then DRVVBUS is used by USB PHY and cannot be used as GPIO.
